Venus is at apogee today – in other words, it is at its furthest from the Earth.

17:23 UT – Venus is at apogee. Distance to Earth: 1.717 AU. (100% illuminated, magnitude -3.9, apparent diameter 9.7”. Virgo, not visible.)

Asteroid 4 Vesta leaves Scorpius and enters Ophiuchus.
