Today’s Astronomical Events – February 21st, 2015

Once again, observers in North America – specifically in the north east – may witness a rare event. Depending upon your latitude, you may be able to see Uranus emerge from behind the crescent Moon in the evening twilight sky. The timing of the event (called an occultation) will vary from location to location but you can check this site for specific information. Make sure to use your binoculars or a telescope as the planet will be too faint to be seen with just your eyes.
